Holy shit, have I read many comics this week. Mostly mini's though, but still. Which means that this is a long post, so buckle up.

This week I've read: )

That concludes my comic reading of the week! Currently I am picking up Supergirl (1996) again and my god I am having so much fun. Mae <3. Linda <3.

Read Spirit World finally!! Boy oh boy do i have many thoughts. Without further ado:

not too spoilery but still )

(I am in desperate need for a Spirit World icon - any of you able to hit me up :)?)

That concludes my thoughts for Spirit World. A whole lot of rambling for 3 issues lmao. Other news: I have finished reading Wonder Woman: Historia. And let me tell you: Holy Shit. It is by far one of the best comics I have ever read. 10/10. Serious recommend. Full review incoming ;)

I am still busy with Supergirl (1982) lol. I love this era of Kara so much. Eepy. Just a gal living her best life. [personal profile] luckyzukky and I have been both reading her and also thinking of doing a fashion post of her? If you don't know, I LOVE fashion and I love the outfits of Kara in this comic. It makes me legitimately insane!!

But with me being so busy chatting in a dc comics discord server with people filled with comic readers, I am always being recommended new comics. Can get overwhelming, but ever since I got into the comic space I learnt to set up my own pace for this. Who cares for out of order reading??? As long as you are having fun! That is why I set up this comm in the first place :))).

I want to read some shorter stuff because I want to speed through some comics, don't have to focus for a big solo currently lmao. Thankfully, I have some short-ish cool comics on my radar. Some of them are recommended to me by friends :). Here they are, hopefully I can get to them and read them:

- Task Force Z recommended by [personal profile] val_el
- Superboy Man of Tomorrow by [personal profile] luckyzukky
- Spirit World
- Superman: American Alien

I want to go through Spirit World and Superman: American Alien first and then Task Force Z. I've wanted to read Spirit World for soooo long and I am in such  a Superfam mood lmfao. Am also obsessed with Superman birth stories like I can't get enough of them. Read Superman: Birthright a while back and I love it I love it I love it. So many things to be said about that comic.

Also really important: want to finish Supergirl (1996) when I have the time, and her origins. It's very confusing and scattered but I am determined!

And: Robin!Jason comics. Really really really important and my favourite era of Jason <3. I want to understand Jason better, and the best way to do that is to read his Robin era (stares intently at official DC Red Hood writers).

A lot to do as you can see lol. Wish me luck, and most importantly, fun while reading all of this! Really looking forward to Spirit World in particular!

i've been reading supergirl v2 (aka the daring new adventures of supergirl, before a name change), thanks to [personal profile] hauntingheart's posting about it, and it's such a fun little read! i love all the cheesy dialogue and seeing kara live her life while going on some silly superheroing adventures. i wish we got these kinds of lighthearted comics these days!

spoilers for some of this week's comics )

it's low quality, but i did a small edit of a panel of kara looking at a sunset, so i thought i'd share it to end this post :)

panel from the daring new adventures of supergirl, showing kara as supergirl smiling while sitting atop a building and overlooking a sunset. the image is colored in intense bright tones with heavy comic screen tones

Supergirl my beloved <3. I am planning on going on an all Supergirl reading spree. And as always, I am doing that completely out of order. Instead of doing a planned reading because I am bad with those, I just gathered some important books and the surrounding issues I want to read.

So my girl Kara has had multiple eras throughout her life. Classic pre-crisis, weird 90s Supergirl, 2000s brought back Supergirl, New-52 version, Rebirth version and her current form. And because I am consistent in being an inconsistent reader, I have started with reading her 90s era <3.

Matrix, aka Mae Kent is the new Supergirl. She is a shapeshifting energy life-form created by an alternate Lex Luthor in a parallel pocket dimension, who fused her being with an Earth girl, Linda Danvers, who has done a lot of wrong in her life and gotten mixed up in the dealings of demons. The result of the fusing is the new Supergirl, who is the Earth-born Angel of Fire.

Currently I am reading her main solo, Supergirl (1996), but I want to read her former mini-solo - Supergirl (1994) - too, her first appearance and other appearances of her in other books. I know she appeared in Young Justice (1998), and I've already read that issue, so that is at least one appearance checked off the list.

Later on, I want to start with her 2000s series, Supergirl (2000) and her other important appearances. I love teenage Kara so much, she is such a delight.

And then... her 80s series, Supergirl (1982). Linda Lee Danvers my beloved. And maybe I will read some Rebirth too (even though based on the cw show I am still curious and it doesn't look too bad) and some Silver Age as well :).
